Tirolian Space: Destroid Tomahawk Chassis

Soon after the crash of the Robotech battle fortress on Aelois III, the human inhabitants of that planet began to reverse engineer and experiment with the technology. One of the first devices they produced was the Tomahawk frame of what became known as “Destroids”; large, bipedal, walkers designed to engage the gigantic Zentraedi on their own terms. In Aeolian fashion, this basic frame was outfitted with different weapon systems and accessories to serve different functions, and then given distinct names… the Anti-Aircraft platform known as the “Defender”, the missile boat referred to as “Phalanx”, and the multi-function assault platform, the eponymous “Tomahawk.”

As with the later battloids of the Southern Cross army, while these Destroids used a common frame, they were not capable of rapidly changing between roles; one could not easily turn a Defender into a Tomahawk, or a Tomahawk into a Phalanx. Doing so required significant engineering and sensor upgrades.
While largely humanoid in shape, the Tomahawk frame has one critical feature lacked by the more maneuverable Valkyrie battloids: the torso can turn 360 degrees easily and rapidly; thus, while the weapons may appear to be limited to the front arc, they are, in fact, all turret-mounted.

MDS-M-6 Air Defense Missile Launcher
Mounted in a pod above the right shoulder, the MDS-M-6 is designed as an anti-starfighter weapon.

Fire Arc: Turret
Skill: Starship Gunnery

Fire Control: 2D
Range: 30-100m/300m/700m
Space Range: 1/3/5
Damage: 8D
Ammo: 6 shots

Phalanx

The Phalanx mounts only one weapon system; massive barrels of long-range missiles, designed as anti-starfighter weapons. This variant is rarely used; it is often more efficient to mount smaller numbers of missiles on more platforms, but in the early days of the First Contact War between the Aeolians and the Zentraedi, limited numbers of pilots and platforms, faced with massive numbers of Zentraedi soldiers, made Phalanx-style large capacity launchers an effective use of resources.
The Phalanx has another advantage, and that is of multiple actions. Each round, up to four actions may be made, two per missile pod. These may be used to target one or multiple targets. Additionally, the parallel arrangement of missiles allows the Phalanx to fire a large amount of missiles at once; they may fire up to ten missiles per action.

MDS-H-22 Long range missile launchers (2)

Fire Arc: Turret
Skill: Starship Gunnery

Fire Control: 2D
Range: 30-100m/300m/1000m

Southern Cross Battloids [d6 Star Wars, Robotech]

Another piece of my "Tirolian Space" setting, which is found under the Robotech tag. There's more I could do with this, but I kinda ran out of steam.

****
After the Aeolian-Zentraedi war, Robotechnology began to flourish on Aeolis III. Much of its surface had been damaged by a Zentraedi orbital bombardment late in the war, so the reconstruction relied heavily on technology contained in the repurposed battle fortress. During the war, a series of non-transformable battloids, termed "Destroids", were produced for military purposes. Early examples of Aeolian Robotechnology, and designed as combat units against the 10 meter tall Zentraedi, these early destroids were massive, slow, and heavily armored.

Post-war, the technology was refined, and a new series of non-transformable battloids was produced. Smaller, taking advantages in advances in design and a mission not centered on fighting 10 meter tall humanoids, they were also built without the expense of basic space maneuverability units. The older destroids were designed to be operated on the hulls of capital ships, serving as supplemental anti-fighter weapons. As such, they had basic zero-gravity maneuvering thrusters, allowing them to return to their ship should other safeguards fail. The civil defense-oriented Southern Cross battloids largely disposed of these, decreasing cost. Renegade Zentraedi, a problem on post-war Aeolis III, would be engaged with other units (including the VHT-1 and remaining VF-1s)

VHT-1 Hover Tank [d6 Star Wars, Robotech]

One of the second generation of vehicles developed by the Aeolians, the Veritech Hover Tank was the first production model land-based Veritech. Fast and maneuverable, it was nonetheless capable of projecting significant force, serving as more of a mounted infantry than a true cavalry.

The VHT is a variable fighter, able to change from a speeder-type configuration, utilizing ground-effect thrusters instead of repulsorlifts, to a fully humanoid "battloid" shape, to a two-legged “tank” mode, resembling a mobile artillery walker. The speeder mode is very compact, functionally speeder scale; the battloid and walker/tank modes are far less compact, functioning on the walker scale. In the last mode, the powerful main cannon is most useful; in other modes, it is either unavailable (speeder) or difficult to use (battloid). Someone who is skilled in Hover Vehicle Operation can make use of the speeder mode mode without penalty, and someone skilled in Walker Operation may make use of the "battloid" and tank shape with no penalty. Veritech Piloting (A) enhances the use of all these modes.

CVR-3 Armor and Cylcones [d6 Star Wars, Robotech]

As the Aeolians made their journey to Tirol, in hopes of creating peace between Aeolis and Tirol, they brought with them an increased understanding of the technology that had led to their first variable fighters. The new technologies were smaller, without sacrificing any of their durability. Among their advances was the creation of a veritech powersuit, designed to function as personal transport and fighting vehicle for mounted power infantry, as well as a survival tool for downed pilots.

The “Cyclone” could fold into a storage cube for transport, or unfold into a two-wheeled conveyance, similar in function to a speeder bike. If the rider knew of its variable nature, and wore the Aoelian-standard interface armor (designation: CVR-3), they would be able to further transform the Cyclone into a powersuit, using inbuilt weapons, flight systems, and improved protection against damage to serve as mounted powered infantry. True to the Aoelian design aesthetic, several modular weapon systems were designed, allowing Cyclone forces to serve a variety of roles, from heavy fire support capable of dealing with walker-scale threats, to sabotage and espionage.

Tirolian Space and the Flower of Life [d6 Star Wars, Robotech]

This is a bit of explanation fitting the Robotech universe into the broader Star Wars galaxy. As I get time, inspiration, and boredom, I intend to write more along this line, regarding the technology brought to bear on the world of Aeolis III.

Zentraedi [d6 Star Wars, Robotech]

Zentraedi

The Zentraedi are a race of Near-human clones, created by the Robotech Masters from Tirolian stock, first as miners, then as warriors. Traditional Zentraedi life is strictly segregated by sex, with female Zentraedi having their own separate units and command structures, and only their top officers interacting with males, while only top males would interact with females. All Zentradei are extremely limited of technical ability; a conditioned programmed into them by the Robotech Masters. Their equipment is designed to be simple to maintain and long-lasting, forcing Zentradei to rely on Tirolian scientists and droids for repair and resupply.

VF-1A Valkyrie [d6 Star Wars, Robotech]

Sorry I haven't posted much recently; my main thrust has been to work on some material for Kenzerco, in the hopes that they like my weird take on a portion of Tellene. However, I recently tossed out this odd little number, because my brain is a rubber ball loaded into a pinball machine.
