Everybody Hates the Drow

 Something I apparently wrote 15 years ago. It helps if you hear the Tom Lehrer version.

 Oh, the dwarf folks hate the orc folks,
And the orc folks hate the dwarf folks.
To hate all but the right folks
Is an old established rule.

But during National Brotherhood Week, National Brotherhood Week,
Drizz't and Bruenor Battlehammer are dancing cheek to cheek.
It's fun to eulogize
The people you despise,
As long as you don't let 'em in your town!

Oh, the drow folks hate the elf folks,
And the elf folks hate the drow folks.
All of my folks hate all of your folks,
It's Oerthian as the Nyr Dyv.*

But during National Brotherhood Week, National Brotherhood Week,
Greyhawkers love the Suloise 'cause it's very chic.
Step up and shake the hand
Of someone you can't stand.
You can tolerate him if you try.

Oh, the bugbears hate the hill giants,
And the hill giants hate the bugbears,
And the goblins hate the kobolds,
And everybody hates the drow!

But during National Brotherhood Week, National Brotherhood Week,
It's National Everyone-smile-at-one-another-hood Week.
Be nice to people who
Are inferior to you.
It's only for a week, so have no fear.
Be grateful that it doesn't last all year!
